Vigilance: I am a very meticulous person in most areas of my life. While providing care, I am particulary vigilant and cognizant to subtle changes exhibited by my patients. This attribute will benefit me as an advanced practice nurse as I will have the ability to provide safe, competent care in the operating room.

 

Knowledge: As evidence by my accomplishments, knowledge enhancement and evidenced based research has been a fundamental element of my nursing career. I look forward to the knowledge I will attain the next 30 months as a nurse anesthetist student.

 

Compassion: I believe compassion is the foundation of nursing care; it ties together all we do and has the greatest effect on the patients and families we care for. I have always strived to provide the utmost compassion to not only the patient I care for, but for those in my personal life as well. 

 

 

Independent: I am very strong willed. I am actively striving to accept help from others as I am discovering the support I accept from my friends and family to be imperative for my survial as an anesthesia student. Furthermore, I am realizing the significance of support and encouragement from my fellow classmates.

 

Delegation: By far one of my biggest weaknesses is my inability to delegate. I always strive to do everything on my own. The last few years I have made it a point to delegate more often as I have come to understand it is important to work as a team to provide quality care.
